LIFE AFTER 50

A Short Summary
Mood:  amorous
Every summer I set out to find garage sales to make purchases for my business. I was on the West Island, Montreal. I get out of my car and walk up a driveway when at about the same time a red car pulls up and a black man comes out. Looked familiar, but didn't take the time to place him. So I jumped back in my car and drive off to the next location and again the red car pulls up at exactly the same time. He wasn't following me, because we did come from different directions. This time we stood face to face and at the same instance we both recognized eachother. It was Roy, whom I hadn't seen for almost 8 years back in the days when I sold at an antique flea market in Ste-Genevieve. I was delighted to see him, and he also seemed quite please from the sense of hugs I recieved from him. We spoke for some time and then he asked me for my email address which I wrote for him on the back of a business card of his mother. He also told me to drop in at his place, which I didn't know where he lived. He mentioned his street FREDMERE, but I didn't know the area.
So we both drove off in different directions. I found it humorous to say the least, because just a week or 2 earlier I had mentioned Roy to Jeff. The last time I had seen Roy, he was not well and was going in for tests for his stomache.
I stopped at a large multi sale, found nothing and moved onto another. I parked and walked over to a sale, and who do I see again? So after 8 years, I bumped into Roy 3 times in a row. Marcel had always said when something happens in 3, that is a sign for something. Okay I thought, but I was with Jeff and there wasn't much I could do.
Days passed and I couldn't get Roy out of my head. I hate it when stuff like this happens, because I always figure there is some mysterious force working behind the scenes. But a week passed and no emails came. I thought it srange, because Roy did appear to be very pleased about out meeting and he was the one who initiated getting in contact. One thing had stayed in my mind, when he took the business card back in his hand, he said that he could not LOSE the card because it had his mother's number on it. Remembering that made me think that it could have been a pre-clue to know that he had indeed lost the card. Unfortunately, I didn't have his number, email, address, nor did I know his last name.
So a few weeks go by and Roy started to slip from my thoughts. Another Saturday and I was doing my usually route for garage sales. I was driving in the West Island again, along Gouin Blvd., and what do I happen to see. FREDMERE street! Wow I thought, this can't be real. At first I kept driving, but then I thought I'll go back and maybe I would happen to see him or his car parked in a driveway. A few housed from the corner I spot his car. Not knowing him that well or what his lifestyle was, I didn't want to go ring his bell. So I wrote down his address and drove off.
Now I had to research how I would find him. I still didn't know his last name or number, but I was able to find all that out on the internet. I thought I would send him a letter, very short, telling him that I thought he may have lost the business card, and gave him another email address to contact me with. I didn't want to give him the original one because Jeff would see the emails. I don't know if that was a bad thing, but I followed my instincts.
